Winchester Poetry Festival

Title: Winchester Poetry Festival

Location: Winchester, Hampshire, UK
Description: The inaugural Winchester Poetry Festival has three integrated strands: it is rooted in the centenary commemoration of the First World War and its poetry, and it is a celebration of Hampshire’s contribution to our national literary heritage.

It is also an opportunity to bring together twenty contemporary poets, writers and editors for readings and discussions about, among other matters, the impact of conflict in poetry today. In addition, there will be community and learning projects and preview events prior to the festival.

Writers taking part include Michael Longley, David Constantine, Edna Longley, Patience Agbabi, Olivia McCannon, Ros Barber, Julia Copus, Brian Patten and Zena Edwards.
