Description: Poetry In Voice/Les voix de la poésie is delighted to announce that its mission now includes providing poetry teaching resources to primary and middle school teachers in addition to existing resources for high school teachers. PIV/LVP is looking for a variety of lesson plans for different grade ranges: kindergarten, grades 1-3, grades 4-6, grades 7 and 8, and grades 9-12. If you would like to propose an entire poetry unit that includes several different lesson plans, please do so.

Poetry In Voice/Les voix de la poésie will consider all submissions and, in late February, will commission some to be written in full. Poetry In Voice will pay $350 for each completed lesson or unit plan submitted by Friday, April 29.

Poetry In Voice/Les voix de la poésie is a national, bilingual poetry recitation contest for high-school students in Canada founded by Scott Griffin, Chairman and founder of The Griffin Trust For Excellence In Poetry, along with Trustees Margaret Atwood, Carolyn Forché, Robert Hass, Michael Ondaatje, Robin Robertson, and David Young. The goal of this competition is to promote the art of poetry in both the classroom and the community. Poetry In Voice provides an entry point for students to develop a personal relationship with poetry by learning their favourite poems by heart. It encourages them to learn about great poetry through exploration, memorization, and performance.
