Title: Bridlington Poetry Festival
Location: Bridlington, England
Description: The beautiful cliff-top setting of Sewerby Hall in Bridlington plays host to the annual Bridlington Poetry Festival, which began in 2010. Bridlington Poetry Festival is organised by Wordquake, East Riding Library Service’s unique project to promote reading and live literature in the East Riding. Wordquake runs projects across the East Riding to encourage as many people as possible to develop a life-long love of literature. Bridlington Poetry Festival and Beverley Literature Festival – one of the UK’s leading literature festivals – are its flagship activities. Alongside these two major literature festivals, Wordquake organises the prestigious Larkin & East Riding Poetry Prize competition, supports readers’ groups, runs writing workshops and delivers innovative projects with communities across the county, supported by East Riding Libraries.
