TS Eliot Prize Readings

The TS Eliot Prize is awarded annually to the author of the best new poetry collection published in the UK or Ireland in the calendar year.

It is judged by a panel of established poets who this year comprise Sinéad Morrissey (Chair), Daljit Nagra and Clare Pollard and has been described by former Poet Laureate Sir Andrew Motion as the Prize most poets want to win.

All ten poets chosen by the judges have been invited to read at the TS Eliot Prize Readings. The shortlisted collections are:

  • Ailbhe Darcy, Insistence (Bloodaxe)
  • Terrance Hayes, American Sonnets for my Past and Future Assassin (Penguin)
  • Zaffar Kunial, Us (Faber)
  • Nick Laird, Feel Free (Faber)
  • Fiona Moore, The Distal Point (HappenStance)
  • Sean O’Brien, Europa (Picador)
  • Phoebe Power, Shrines of Upper Austria (Carcanet)
  • Richard Scott, Soho (Faber)
  • Tracy K Smith, Wade in the Water (Penguin)
  • Hannah Sullivan, Three Poems (Faber)

The winner will be announced after the readings.
