Sony Centre Poetry Slam with Toronto Poetry Project

April 24 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

A poetry slam is a high energy competition of spoken word poetry. Poetry slams were invented by a construction worker from Chicago named Marc Smith in the 1980s as a way to bring life back into poetry readings and make the audience engaged in the show!

Sony Centre Poetry Slam is presented with Toronto Poetry Project, producers of the Toronto Poetry Slam, hosted by Charlie Petch. While most slams have 2 or 3 rounds with each round featuring the same performers, the Sony Centre Poetry Slam will be one long round with an intermission.
